Jorginho has really proven his worth to this Arsenal team in recent weeks.
The Italian was fantastic in the 3-1 win against Liverpool earlier this month, while he was also fantastic against Newcastle at the weekend.
The midfielder may well be considered as one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet at the moment, but that could change very soon.
Indeed, Thomas Partey has now returned to training for Arsenal, and the Ghanaian will be keen to win his spot in the side back as soon as possible.
It’s fair to say that Mikel Arteta has a selection headache on his hands here.
Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Partey’s return to action, and he says that while he wouldn’t put Partey back in the team straight away, he may well put him back into the team at some point, claiming that he does have a higher ceiling than Jorginho.

Thomas Partey has a higher ceiling than Jorginho
Clarke spoke about the two midfield options.
“Yeah, Thomas Partey has the higher ceiling in terms of what he can offer physically to the team, but the manager probably wants to take a look at Thomas to see what his form is like before throwing him into a big Champions League night or whatnot. I think Jorginho is the safe bet at the moment,” Clarke said.
May be rusty
Clarke is spot on, Partey does have a higher ceiling than Jorginho in his ability to impact big games, but he may be rusty after so long out of the game.
Partey hasn’t played for almost six months at this point, while Jorginho seems to be finding his best form and getting into a real rhythm at the moment.
For now, Jorginho should keep his place in the team, but make no mistake about it, Partey will be seriously pushing him over the next few weeks.
