Leeds United ace Mateusz Klich has been praised by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for his performances in the early stages of the Premier League campaign.

The Whites, promoted to the top-flight as Championship champions, have hit the ground running with a seven-goal thriller at Liverpool and wins over Fulham and Sheffield United.

Klich has been a key part of Leeds’ impressive start, scoring two goals and registering one assist in these three games, as well as linking up play well and showing plenty of energy.

When it came to putting together a Premier League XI for the opening month, Carragher selected Klich to go alongside James Rodriguez and Kevin De Bruyne in the selection.

“Leeds have been a revelation to start with, the games they’ve been involved in, so exciting,” the Liverpool legend told Sky Sports.

“He’s been a big part of that. We talked a lot about other Leeds players before the season started, but the goals he’s got, the assists.

“The energy he shows from midfield to get into the box, and that high energy is what Leeds are about. We’ve got to have someone from Leeds in this team.”

Klich, signed by Leeds for just £1.5million in 2017, has been a revelation for the Elland Road side over the past three years.

A midfielder who is creative and also tenacious, it’s little surprise to see the 30-year-old hitting the ground running in the top flight for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
