Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer in-form winger Heung-min Son an improved contract.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the club’s hierarchy is ready to put forth a second new deal to the South Korean inside 12 months.

Son last put pen to paper back in July 2018, but his stunning form in 2018/19 could land him another pay increase.

Supposedly talks will commence in the summer, but the initial thinking is that he will be moved closer to the £150,000-a-week that Dele Alli is earning from his current £110,000 takeaway.

Son has established himself as one of Spurs’ most important players and is undoubtedly worth negotiating a new contract for, but is he actually being short-changed?

Son deserves Kane wages

Arguably Son should be bumped up to the same kind of wages as Harry Kane, having now become just as important and influential as the Englishman.

Kane is usually the talisman but the former Bayer Leverkusen star has shown he has the quality and attitude to assume the responsibility of being the main man.

His 16-goal haul this term is highly commendable given his exertions for South Korea, and his overall record of 63 goals and 35 assists in 172 appearances for the club is hugely impressive.

He is a big game player, who deserves big game player wages.

Kane reportedly rakes in around £200,000-a-week plus bonuses (The Guardian). Surely cult hero Son, who is about to come into the prime of his career, deserves something closer to that.
