It has been quite a week for Heung-min Son. The South Korean was sent off after a trip on Andre Gomes resulted in a horrific injury for the Everton midfielder last weekend. That red card was overturned and Son then scored twice in Tottenham’s Champions League romp against Red Star Belgrade. Yesterday, he scored again, as Tottenham drew 1-1 with Sheffield United as the club’s domestic form continues to be a disappointment.

But he is again involved in some controversy. As far as Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is concerned, the South Korean tried to con the referee during the game.
Speaking to BBC Sheffield after the game Wilder suggested that Son had dived in the second-half with the score at 1-0.
“Son – he made a big effort to go for a penalty, didn’t he? I don’t want my team to feel any contact and go down. I’m going to stick with that. If any of my players starting diving about they’ll be told and they might not get a shirt.”
TBR’s View
Son certainly went down a little easy under the challenge of Jack O’Connell. The incident was referred to VAR and the right decision was probably made with no penalty awarded to Tottenham Hotspur.
It is not the first time Son has been accused of diving either. He was booked for a dive against Leicester City in February after he went over the foot of Harry Maguire and delayed in his fall.
On this occasion, it is hard to tell if Son went down under the slight challenge naturally or did indeed take a tumble. Hopefully, it was the former and Son was not trying to buy himself a penalty.
