Troy Deeney has raved about Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk on the Tubes & Ange Golf Life channel.
The comeback
Van Dijk missed almost the entirety of last season, and his absence was sorely felt by Liverpool.
But the Dutchman is now coming back to fitness, after recovering from injury.
And Deeney’s words should serve as a warning to all Premier League strikers ahead of the upcoming campaign.
“I can’t explain to people how good this guy is,” he said, when talking about Van Dijk.
“He’s so good. Physically he’s come through at Celtic and Southampton so he knows how to put it about.
“But he’s just a Rolls Royce of a footballer. He’s world-class.”
World class
Van Dijk has now featured regularly for Liverpool over pre-season as he steps up his comeback.

The towering central defender may not start on opening day against Norwich City, but he will surely be involved in the match day squad.
Just having Van Dijk’s presence around should help Liverpool tighten up at the back.
Jurgen Klopp’s defensive options are looking much healthier this season, with Ibrahima Konate signed and Joe Gomez and Joel Matip also back fit.
And Liverpool will be hoping that their reinforced backline can help provide the foundation to get them back into title contention once again this time around.
