Timo Werner has been linked to Manchester United recently.

For many years, a move to Old Trafford would be a dream for any player, but now, Werner isn’t too sure he wants anything to do with the Red Devils.

Indeed, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has shared what he knows about the striker, and he says that the German has serious reservations about joining Manchester United.

Werner, as we all remember, has been in England with Chelsea before, and it’s fair to say that didn’t go too well.

The striker, with all due respect, was a flop at Stamford Bridge, and the fans and the press didn’t hold back when it came to telling him.

Now, with a move to the Premier League beckoning once again, Werner has reservations about coming and playing for a big club under huge pressure.

Werner has doubts about Manchester United move

Jones shared what he knows about the £28m player.

“There are reservations about Timo Werner, from Timo Werner’s end, about coming to the Premier League and signing for a big club under pressure. It didn’t end well for him at Chelsea and I don’t know if he’s scarred a bit from that, and from what I understand he has some reservations about joining Manchester United,” Jones said.

Can’t blame him

We really can’t blame Werner if he doesn’t want to return to England.

Look, we all love football, but in this country the game is more of an obsession than it is a passion for many.

A bad signing isn’t just allowed to be a bad signing at a big club, it has to be the be-all-and-end-all in terms of problems at a football club like Manchester United and it can dominate the discourse and back pages for months on end.

Werner struggled in England last time, and if he were to go to United and endure the same fate, he’d once again have to put up with the circus that surrounds it all, and, in all truth, it probably isn’t worth it.
