'He's ridiculous': Emile Smith Rowe says 25-year-old has stood out in Arsenal training

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has described Gunners teammate Gabriel Jesus as “ridiculous”.

The Arsenal academy graduate lauded his new colleague in an interview on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

Jesus joined the Gunners from Manchester City earlier this summer for a reported £45million fee.

It brought Mikel Arteta’s long search for a new star striker to an end.

The 25-year-old has scored a staggering seven goals for Arsenal in pre-season

And on his Emirates debut last Saturday, Jesus weighed in with a hat-trick in the 6-0 hammering of Sevilla.

FIVE’s Joel Beya asked Smith Rowe whether anyone stood out for him in pre-season.

“The players that have come back [from loans], I already know how good they are,” he replied.

“So it’s not a surprise to see how good they are and how well they are doing.

“But from the new players, I think Gabriel Jesus… I didn’t actually realise how sharp he was.

“Obviously playing against him it’s different, you see him watching Man City before.

“But when you actually see him in training…

“I’ve been telling my friends, they’re always asking, and I’m like ‘he’s ridiculous’.”

Arsenal certainly appear to have made the right call in terms of their striker business this summer.

The Gunners came in for criticism after losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and not bringing in a replacement in January.

However, they waited for the right striker to come along, and they’ve duly snapped up one of the Premier League’s best forwards in Jesus.

The Brazil international knows the English top flight inside out, is a proven goalscorer, and is heading into his peak years.
