Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not return for the game against Leeds United, but the Gabon star seems to be doing everything he can to win his boss’ trust again.

The Spaniard dropped Aubameyang from the squad due to what was described as a disciplinary breach. Arteta seemed furious and he decided to punish him by stripping the striker of his Arsenal captaincy.

Aubameyang wouldn’t have been happy and many fans predicted that he will force his way out of the club in the January transfer window.

However, it now looks like he is responding the way Arteta wants him to.

Aubameyang turns up to training before everyone else

The former Arsenal skipper was due to return to training this week for the first time since he was axed from the squad.

The Sun revealed yesterday that Aubameyang showed up at London Colney a full hour and a half before any of his teammates.

The Gabon star was forced to train away from the first team, but a response like yesterday’s will likely go down well with Arteta, who is a disciplinarian.

It will be interesting to see if the Arsenal boss will open the door for Aubameyang’s return after the game against Leeds this evening.
