Liverpool could end up losing one of their star midfielders, as Ronald Koeman reportedly eyes up Gini Wijnaldum as a potential signing for his Barcelona side.

Dutch news outlet AD has claimed Koeman is a big fan of the Reds star and has even gone as far as to say Koeman has told Wijnaldum not to sign a new deal with Liverpool.

The midfielder is currently in the last 12 months of his Anfield contract with little to no sign as yet of a deal being close.

It means, then, that a move to Barcelona may well tempt Wijnaldum given their stature in the game and Koeman’s appointment.
