Liverpool legend John Barnes has singled out the signing of Diogo Jota as a fine piece of business for the Reds this summer.
The Portuguese winger arrived at Anfield in an unexpected move from Wolves and has already started to make an impression on Merseyside with a number of fine cameo displays.

Jota, who has been instrumental in Wolves’ rise up the leagues, can play across the entire front positions and that is something Barnes believes is going to be of great benefit to the Reds this term.
Speaking for the Independent, the former Liverpool and England winger remarked:
“Jota is a great player who will be able to help strengthen the squad. Will he play in front three? Probably not but he’s given us enough quality that if one of the front three gets injured, he can come in and do a very good job and someone you can count on.
“For someone to say that he’s ready to play in each position that the manager wants him to says a lot about a player and his attitude. It shows a level of maturity, dedication and professionalism. I really think Jota will bring a lot to the team. He’s one to watch.”
Jota has already got off the mark for Liverpool, scoring in the 3-1 Premier League win over Arsenal this season.

Having been such a key man for Wolves, the winger will be hoping to make a similar impression at Anfield and prove Barnes’ prediction to be true.
Jota will flourish under Klopp – TBR View
There weren’t many signings in the summer window that seem so tailor made as this one. Jota is everything Jurgen Klopp loves and demands from his players in his system.
Quick, tenacious, and willing to press constantly from the front, Jota should prove a shrewd signing for Liverpool.
