Ian Wright has told the Kelly and Wrighty show that he just doesn’t see how Jurgen Klopp can get Harvey Elliott in his Liverpool team anymore.
Elliott has put in some impressive displays for Klopp’s men so far this season and at just 19, looks to be a star of the future.
The youngster has already bagged a goal and has started five games for Liverpool in the Premier League. But Wright feels Elliott doesn’t suit the central-midfield role he has often played in for the majority of the current campaign.

Wright on Elliott
Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty show, the Arsenal legend said Elliott cannot fulfil the role Jordan Henderson does so well in the side.
He said: “Where’s Harvey Elliott going to play in that midfield? He’s not going to be a Jordan Henderson who goes and fills in for Trent, he’s a more creative midfielder.
“There’s so much he needs to fix, but he’s got to do it on the fly.”

Elliott has shown that can play in central midfield and has also been used on the right-hand side by Klopp this season.
But the 19-year-old’s best position at this moment in time seems to be as an attacking-midfielder, a role that Klopp rarely uses in his side.
The German boss has shown some tactical flexibility in recent weeks though after a poor run of form.
There’s no doubt that Elliott will continue to improve on the defensive side of his game and could become a top midfielder for Liverpool.
For now though, Wright is correct that Klopp will get the best out of the youngster by playing him in a more advanced role in Liverpool’s midfield.
The England U21 international impressed during his spell in midfield in the absence of Thiago Alcantara. But with the Spaniard back in the starting XI, Klopp will have to find a way to utilise Elliott over the course of the season.
