'He's lying': Luke Shaw shares why West Ham's Declan Rice has been 'crying' during England camp at the World Cup

Manchester United’s Luke Shaw and West Ham captain Declan Rice have been the first two guests on England’s Lions’ Den at the World Cup.

On YouTube, Rice asked Shaw: “Have you had enough of third wheeling me and Mason Mount?”

Shaw said that Rice has actually been wondering why he has not spent more time with him in Qatar, and joking that the midfielder plays it up for the camera.

Shaw on Rice

Shaw said in reply to Rice: “Bro, he’s lying! He does this for the camera!

“Yesterday he was like, crying to me saying ‘why have you not been chilling with us and that?’ Now he’s doing this on the camera. Honestly, yesterday he was saying you’re not talking to us as much and that and now…

“He did that after the question as well – when did he do this, yesterday? He’s all big for the camera. Yesterday, he was saying ‘Shawy, man, you’re not speaking to us as much and all this and that.’ And now he’s doing that? This guy…

“I still am hanging around with them and I love them both. So funny and so good to be around. He’s getting jealous as Mase is maybe coming a bit towards me!”

The mood around the England camp has been great at the last two tournaments and there is a massive team spirit in the group.

Shaw will hope that can help take England all the way after going close at the previous two tournaments, making a semi-final in 2018 and then the Euro 2020 final.

Shaw scored the opening goal in that game, producing a moment which would have gone down in history if England won, and will hope for more magic memories in Qatar.
