‘He’s just so good’…Yakubu blown away by £34m Liverpool player’s consistency

Former Everton striker Yakubu has lauded the performance levels of Liverpool forward Mo Salah, ahead of his AFCON campaign this month.

Nigerian Yakubu is well aware of Salah and how he is perceived on Merseyside. The ‘Yak’ was a big fan favourite on Merseyside himself, albeit with the blue half.

However, that hasn’t stopped Yakubu singing the praises of Liverpool star Salah.

Speaking in an interview for The Mirror, Yakubu pointed out how Salah’s consistency makes him one of the top ‘legends’ in African football.

Yakubu praises Liverpool’s Mo Salah

Speaking about Salah in the interview, Yakubu shared his thoughts on the £34m forward.

“Salah has won African Footballer of the Year twice. He is just so good. He’s still one of the top legends in Africa, not only now but of all-time. He’s just so consistent for Liverpool and is scoring so many goals. Egypt are strong and they also have many other great players,” Yakubu said.

Salah is leading Liverpool’s charge towards the Premier League title this season after the Red kept him in the summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

Salah an all-time great

Mo Salah will go down as one of the best to ever do it not only for Liverpool but in the league in general.

Salah’s consistency, as Yakubu says here, is what marks him out among the very best players. Those individuals don’t come along too often and it’s little wonder Liverpool have enjoyed so much success since they signed him.

The big problem the Reds will have in the future is replacing Salah. Right now, there aren’t many players in the world who can do what he can, so finding a replacement is nigh on impossible.

Salah will be hoping to cement his legacy further by leading Egypt to success this month. And if he can do that, then he might truly be considered the ‘GOAT’ of African football.

Certainly, when it comes to Liverpool, he’s right in that conversation. Right now, there are few in the Premier League better as Salah continues to set standards.
