'He's got no fear man': Mat Ryan says one Arsenal outfielder would make a pretty good goalkeeper
Arsenal goalkeeper Mat Ryan has claimed that Gunners defender Kieran Tierney would probably make a decent stopper as he’s got “no fear”.
Tierney has been sensational since joining Arsenal – although it took him a while to get fully up and running due to injuries, he’s now one of the team’s most consistent players.
The Scotland international is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium thanks to his quality, workrate and attitude (plus the occasional memeable moment).

Now, Tierney may well have another potential string to his bow in the shape of taking over in between the sticks if the game calls for an outfielder to go in goal.
Ryan took part in a Q&A session on Arsenal’s Twitch and was asked about whether Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette would be better in goal.
“I’m trying to think here, maybe Aubameyang because of the height, he’d be able to cover the goal a little bit more. You might have to come back to me on that one.
“Actually I will throw Kieran Tierney in there. He’s got no fear man, he would be jumping around, throwing himself at people’s feet, so I’ll throw him in there.”
As if Arsenal fans couldn’t love Tierney any more, now it transpires that he’d potentially make for a decent goalkeeper too.
Hopefully he’d never have to be called into action but if the game goes that way, it’s nice to know there’s an outfielder who’d certainly give it a good go.
