'He's got everything': Aaron Ramsdale stunned by £27m Arsenal player who 'glides across the pitch'
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has praised Gunners teammate William Saliba on ESPN.
The Emirates stopper believes the 21-year-old is a “man-mountain who has “everything” in his repertoire.
Saliba joined Arsenal for £27million in 2019, but didn’t make his competitive debut until this summer.
Mikel Arteta resisted calls to throw him in at the deep end, instead letting him develop out on loan.
Saliba remained at Saint-Etienne in 2019-20 before getting half a season at Nice in 2021.
The following season, the Frenchman kicked on at Marseille.
And this term, Arteta has finally unleashed Saliba, who has enjoyed a sensational campaign so far.
His efforts have helped Arsenal go five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Gunners will also fancy their chances in the Europa League, having reached the last 16.
And Ramsdale, himself a success story at Arsenal, is loving what he’s seeing from his teammate.
“A man-mountain, honestly,” he told ESPN. “He glides across the pitch, doesn’t seem to sprint.
“He [Saliba] gets his big arm across people.
“The guy, he’s got everything honestly and he’s showing it on the pitch.
“He’s keeping some of the best strikers in the league quiet at the minute and all the credit goes to him.”
Could Saliba end 2022 as star for club and country?
For a while, many Arsenal fans were questioning Arteta’s reluctance to make use of Saliba at the Emirates Stadium.
But it proved the right call as the youngster developed into the player he is today.
Saliba is now one of the first names on Arteta’s team sheet, starting every Premier League game for Arsenal this term.
He is also in the France squad for the 2022 World Cup. So he could well end the year as a superstar for club and country.
