Arsenal fans are convinced that Joe Willock is leaving after he was left out of their friendly game yesterday.
On the way out?
Arsenal took on Watford and won 4-1, but it was noticeable that Willock was not involved with the squad at all.
No official reason for Willock’s absence was given after the game.
But there are many Arsenal fans who feel that the midfielder’s omission was a sign that he is about to leave.
Reasons for his absence
Now Willock’s absence could, of course, have been down to injury or illness as Mikel Arteta did no post match interviews.
However, if he was to leave Arsenal in the near future it would hardly be a surprise.
Recent reports in the Daily Mail have suggested that he is now closing in a move to Newcastle United.
Willock spent last season on loan away from Arsenal and his form at Newcastle made him a top choice for Steve Bruce’s side, with ex-Magpies player Lee Clark labelling him ‘unbelievable’ (Tribal Football).
With Arsenal looking to raise funds, Willock appears to be one of the most valuable fringe players in their squad.
However, if he was to continue to deliver performances of the standard he put in on loan at Newcastle over the course of the entire season then Arteta’s side could regret letting him go.
