‘He’s crazy’: Emerson Royal says 25-year-old Spurs player has done something simply ‘amazing’ at the World Cup

Emerson Royal has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that Richarlison has done something simply ‘amazing’ at the World Cup.

Royal missed out on Brazil’s 26-man squad for the tournament in Qatar but he’s still cheering on Richarlison from north London.

The Spurs forward has been in breathtaking form for Tite’s men and has bagged three goals in as many games.

Two of his goals are arguably contenders for goal of the tournament so far and his effort against Serbia certainly impressed Royal.

Richarlison scored a memorable brace against Serbia on his World Cup debut just 13 days ago.

The 25-year-old’s second of the game was a stunning overhead kick and Royal has shared what he told Richarlison right after the game.  

“Richy’s crazy! His goal against Serbia was very beautiful, an amazing goal,” he told Tottenham’s website.

“I spoke with him after that game. I said, ‘Richy, you are crazy!’ This is the best goal, a top goal. Richy’s goal it’s like Pele, it’s like Romario, such a brilliant goal.

“I’m so happy for him, he’s a top player but also a top person.”

It’s brilliant to hear that Emerson is supporting his Spurs teammate after he missed out on the tournament.

Richarlison has been in lethal goalscoring form for Brazil and has bagged seven goals in his last six games.

He got on the scoresheet yet again last time out as Tite’s men thrashed South Korea 4-1, which knocked Heung-Min Son out of the tournament.

The Spurs man is still adjusting to life under Antonio Conte but he’s certainly the main man for Brazil right now.

He faces a tough test against Croatia on Friday and will be hoping to send another one his teammates home in Ivan Perisic.
