'He's coming': Some Arsenal fans think they might just sign £100k-a-week ace after development
Arsenal fans are growing increasingly confident that they can sign Houssem Aouar, after the latest development in Get French Football News.
Arsenal have been said to be long term admirers of Aouar.
They pursued the Lyon midfielder heavily last summer, and the Sun say that he remains a player of interest this time around.
Arsenal failed to get a deal over the line last year, but Aouar is now reportedly pushing for a move.
Indeed, Get French Football News say that Aouar has been absent from training in a bid for engineer an exit from the French club.
With Arsenal missing out on Emiliano Buendia and looking unlikely to sign Martin Odegaard, there is an obvious need for a playmaker to be snapped up this summer.
And many Arsenal fans feel that Aouar’s arrival could be more likely now.
Big offer ready?
The Sun actually claim Arsenal are prepared to offer Aouar £100,000-a-week to join them, which would be a sign of how highly they rate the player.
Aouar hasn’t enjoyed his best season at Lyon, but there was a time when he was regarded as one of the best up-and-coming talents in Europe.
At the age of 22, Aouar still has time on his side as he seeks to find his top form.
And his arrival at Arsenal would have to be seen as a positive move for the Gunners, as they look to reshape their squad.
