'He's coming in hot': £7m West Ham player takes dig at Sky Sports pundit on TV programme

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio takes a dig at Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp on the latest show of A League of Their Own that airs tomorrow night.

Antonio has posted a preview clip of the show on Twitter and the £7 million man doesn’t hold back on Redknapp.

Fellow guest Jonathan Ross starts a topic of conversation about footballers having pictures of themselves on their shin pads.

And it sparks a conversation between Antonio and Redknapp on the show.

Redknapp said: “A lot of the guys have their shin pads with their faces on nowadays though.”

“They have their family a lot of the time,” Antonio responded.

But Redknapp joked: “It’s a bit odd though really because someone’s kicking your family then really.”

The West Ham striker then comes back with a brutal response about Redknapp’s pace in his playing days.

“Everyone’s quite quick these days Jamie, no-one as slow as you so don’t be getting kicked anymore,” Antonio said.

The Hammers striker gets a few gasps and laughs from the audience and presenter of the show Romesh Ranganathan says: “He’s coming in hot.”

Antonio takes dig at Redknapp

Redknapp seemed to take the joke pretty well and Antonio even posted the preview of the show on his Twitter account today.

The striker wrote: “Had a laugh on A League of Their Own… not sure if Jamie did.”

Redknapp wasn’t exactly renowned for his pace but did enjoy a decent career having played for Liverpool and Tottenham.

Antonio probably relished being able to hit back at a Sky Sports pundit like Redknapp, with players being analysed more than ever in the modern game.

The 32-year-old has been on a difficult run of form lately, having only scored one goal in the Premier League this season.

The Hammers are back in action tomorrow evening as they face Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League. But if West Ham fans want to see Antonio take a dig at Redknapp, they will be able to catch him on TV after tomorrow’s game.
