A number of Arsenal fans have welcomed the confirmation that Gunners loanee William Saliba will not be involved in the French Cup final next week.
The Gunners signed the talented 19-year-old centre-back last summer from Saint-Etienne, but he was loaned back to the club as part of the deal.
Over the course of the season, Unai Emery was replaced by Mikel Arteta, before most of European football – including French competition – was suspended.

While some leagues have returned to action, Ligue 1 did not, but the French Cup final will still be taking place – and Saint-Etienne will be involved.
Discussions took place between the two clubs with regards to Saliba’s immediate future, which led to a lot of debate amongst fans.
Should the 6ft 4in prodigy feature in the final and return to Arsenal with a winner’s medal, or should he not be risked in case he gets injured before or during the game?
After a dispute between the two sides at the start of July which led to criticism of one another, Saint-Etienne boss Claude Puel confirmed in a press conference that Saliba will definitely not be involved in the showpiece event.
Needless to say a lot of Arsenal supporters were pleased with the news and with their new prodigy definitely set for London:
