Celtic manager Neil Lennon has spoken out on the future of Leigh Griffiths after the Hoops striker missed out on the Parkhead side’s pre-season programme so far.
The Bhoys spent some time training at Loughborough University before taking part in the Veolia Trophy in France, taking on Nice and Lyon, and facing Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Griffiths hasn’t been involved, with Lennon keeping him behind at Lennoxtown to work on his fitness.

Odsonne Edouard is Celtic’s main striker, and with Patryk Klimala and Vakoun Issouf Bayo also wanting to stake their claims, Griffiths’ place in the squad is at risk.
However, Lennon has made it clear that the £1million ace will not be loaned out, saying he’s coming on with his training regime.
“I’m not even considering that at the minute,” Lennon is quoted by the Daily Record as saying. “He’s been coming on but we’ll assess him when we get back.”
TBR View:
Griffiths hasn’t had the best pre-season, to put it mildly, in wake of his fitness issues which have left him having to catch up back in Glasgow as well as social media posts which left Lennon unimpressed to say the least.
However, the 29-year-old’s credentials and CV speak for themselves, and Lennon clearly cares about his player and wants him to do well, so surely it’s just a matter of time before he gets up to speed and goes on to make history with the club over the nest 12 months.
