Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has been praised by Gary Lineker as Pep Guardiola’s charges went 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Algeria international has struggled at times for City this season, but has looked much brighter in recent weeks and was fantastic in Tuesday night’s win over Wolves.
Mahrez impressed from the off and created the first goal with a wonderful first touch after collecting Rodri’s long pass.

He was a constant threat for City down the right with his close control and trickery, and Jonny and Ki-Jana Hoever simply could not contain him.
Mahrez was subsequently involved in the build-up for the second and then got on the scoresheet himself to seal all three points with a cool finish.
And Lineker was seriously impressed with the £120,000-a-week star’s heroics at the Etihad:
City ran out 4-1 winners, opening the scoring on 15 minutes through a Leander Dendoncker own goal.
Wolves then equalised through Conor Coady just after the hour, but a Gabriel Jesus brace and Mahrez’s effort wrapped up a routine win.
