According to Turkish media outlet Takvim, Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida is a potential transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Spurs could be in the market for a new defender because Toby Alderweireld’s future is unclear.
Arsenal are among the clubs linked with triggering Alderweireld’s bargain £25m release clause, according to The Sun.
And if Spurs are robbed of their best central defender, they will need to dip into the transfer market and sign a replacement.
Vida has been touted as a possible replacement for Alderweireld. The 29-year-old was linked with Tottenham last summer and these rumours are now resurfacing.
The Croatia international helped his team reach the World Cup final last summer and earned plaudits for his passionate displays at the back.
Vida is currently at Besiktas, who may be forced into a sale this summer due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
If he moved to North London, Vida would join Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth in Tottenham’s ranks.
Tottenham fans took to Twitter to discuss this rumour and opinion was split. Here are some reactions from Spurs supporters.
