'He's amazing': Daniel James names Leeds man he's learnt 'so much' from since Elland Road move
Daniel James has described Marcelo Bielsa as amazing and claimed he has learned so much from the Leeds United boss since his Elland Road move, in comments reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Leeds haven’t had the easiest start to the campaign. The Whites are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League and have only won three games all season.
One of their shining lights, however, has been James. The Wales international arrived with a bigger point to prove than most because of the club he signed from. He also came in for a huge fee.
He arguably made a quiet start to life at Elland Road. But he has been one of their best performers during the past few weeks, with plenty lauding his performance in the win over Crystal Palace last week.
And it appears James puts his form, at least partially, down to working with the Leeds boss.
“He’s amazing. He’s a manager who is recognised around the world as a top manager by all the other coaches. They all really respect him,” James said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“As soon as I came in, from day one, he wanted me to learn. And he knows I want to learn every single day and that is what I have been doing. I have learnt so much from him since I have come in and I want to keep doing that.”
James comments show Leeds squad remains right behind Bielsa
Bielsa is coming under more pressure than perhaps he has faced at any other time during his tenure. The Whites needed two stoppage-time goals last week to take the win against Palace and a point from their clash with Brentford.
However, the players clearly remain right behind the Argentinian. And that could prove pivotal as Leeds look to drag themselves out of trouble.
The Elland Road atmosphere this season would suggest the large majority of fans have kept faith in Bielsa. James’ comments show the players feel exactly the same.
