The end of an era is approaching at Celtic Park as Scott Brown prepares to head for pastures new.

After 14 trophy-laden years at the club, Brown will head to Pittodrie at the end of the season and become a player-coach under new Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass.

Having lifted 22 trophies since arriving from Hibs in 2007, the midfielder has written himself into the club’s history books.

His recent Man of the Match performance in the 1-1 draw against Rangers proved he still has the ability to influence games at the top level of Scottish football, and his former team-mate Kieran Tierney has hailed the 35-year-old.

Tierney, who left Celtic for Arsenal in a £25m and has gone on to become a fans’ favourite at the Emirates, believes his former captain has what it takes to become a successful manager when he eventually hangs up his boots.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Tierney said: “I don’t think words would do Scott Brown justice for what he has done for me and the club.

“He’s a legend.

“The word probably gets used a lot these days but he is the definition of a legend.

“He helped me so much and I am so thankful for him. I am still really close to him today.

“In football he is probably who I have been closest to and my best mate for years.

“I think it is only a matter of time when he chooses to finish playing for good and he will be a manager and a top one.

“He’s a winner. That’s one thing. He likes to win and he knows how to win.

“It would be a pleasure to play under him. He would be some manager.

“He would get everyone working for him so he will be a great manager one day for sure.”
