Ledley King has been speaking to 90 Min and says Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero ‘almost stops’ whenever he gets the ball.
King racked up a staggering 322 appearances for Tottenham and spent his whole career in north London.
The Englishman retired as a club legend and many fans regard him as one of the best centre-backs to ever play for Spurs.
King was unfortunately hampered by recurring knee injuries but even played through the pain for Spurs, most notably in the Carling Cup final back in 2008.
Now the Spurs legend has delivered his verdict on Romero and he is full of praise for the 24-year-old.

King on Romero
He said: “He’s a rare one for me. He’s very calm with the ball, almost kind of stops with the ball and everything slows down, and without the ball he’s so tenacious.
“He wants to get in there and win everything. For me, he’s got a perfect balance for being a top centre-half.”

There’s arguably no-one better placed than King to judge a Tottenham centre-back at this moment in time.
Romero has been a revelation for Spurs ever since making the loan switch from Atalanta last summer. And after some solid displays over the course of last season, the club snapped him up on a permanent deal in August.
The Argentina international has brought real aggression to the Spurs backline while being arguably their best ball-playing centre-back.
Romero has endured a slightly difficult start to the season after being sidelined for three Premier League games in August. He’s looked slightly off the pace since his return but was back to his usual self against Frankfurt last night.
At just 24, Romero’s prime years are yet to come and it looks like Spurs have picked up a player destined to become one of the best centre-backs in Europe.
