Rangers loanee Jake Hastie continued his fine start to life at loan club Rotherham United last night. The winger scored an equaliser in the second half as Rotherham managed to hold Sunderland to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.
It was yet another fine display from the Rangers youngster, who has now scored three goals in three games for the Millers.
He has certainly impressed his new manager Paul Warne. Speaking after the match at the Stadium of Light he was quoted by the Evening Express as stating the winger was ‘a menace’ who was working hard to prove a point.
“Jake’s been here three weeks and done really well. He hasn’t really played a lot of football since April time so he’s still getting into the swing of things really.
“I’ve spent most of the summer trying to get a couple of wingers, and thankfully we managed to get him in before the window closed.
“He’s a menace. Credit to him for the way he played again, he’s a young lad who is trying to make his mark. I thought he played really well for us.”
Hearing that Hastie is applying himself so well at his new club will surely have Rangers fans excited.
Steven Gerrard clearly saw something in the player this summer and decided to bring him to Ibrox from Motherwell.
However, with competition in the wide areas vast, Rangers’ boss decided it was best that Hastie headed out on loan and he is not wasting any time in trying to prove a point to those back at Ibrox.
Hopefully, he can continue to be a hit in Yorkshire and return to Rangers an even better player.
