Dejan Kulusevski has been giving an interview for Tottenham’s official channels and has sung the praises of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

Bentancur has returned from injury recently and that timing couldn’t be better, given the injuries and suspension problems facing Ange Postecoglou’s side right now.

Of course, Bentancur arrived at the same time as Kulusevski. Brought in when Fabio Paratici was pulling the strings, both players have been big transfer success stories for Spurs.

And speaking about Bentancur for Inside Spurs, Kulusevski couldn’t praise his £20m teammate enough.

Speaking to Inside Spurs, Kulusevski admitted that he was delighted to see Bentancur back in action.

“It just feels good. Feels good to be at war with him because he’s a warrior, he’s a machine, absolutely unbelievable. How he’s been training with this injury, zero fear. Just going hungry. He wanted to play months ago. He was so hungry so definitely he’s a guy I want to go to war with,” Kulusevski said.

Bentancur’s return not only gives Postecoglou fresh options in the middle but right now, ensures the squad is deep enough to cope with a mini crisis.

With Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie suspended and injuries to Micky van de Ven and James Maddison coming against Chelsea, Spurs will need everyone fit.

Bentancur has been exceptional in fairness to him since signing and it will be interesting to see if the Uruguayan comes into the first choice XI of Big Ange.

Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma have impressed, while Pierre Hojbjerg has remained professional and done his job when called upon.

However, Bentancur does have that added class about him and if he’s fully fit, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him back in the XI pretty soon.

This weekend might come a game too soon. But after the international break, Bentancur could well fly.
