Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal are about to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.
Odegaard incoming
Arsenal have been pushing to land the Norwegian over the past few days, and it seems that they have now made a breakthrough in negotiations.
Odegaard is set to join the Gunners on a permanent deal, and he will sign a contract which will last until 2026, according to Romano.
Good news for the Gunners
That looks like good news for Arsenal, as Odegaard impressed during a loan spell with them last season.
The creator quickly forced his way into Mikel Arteta’s side, and he improved the quality of their attacking play.
While there are still things that Odegaard needs to work on, his potential was clear to see during his first stint at the club.
The 22-year-old already knows the way Arsenal work and his arrival on a permanent basis gives Arteta yet another young diamond to polish on the training ground.
Odegaard could now feature for Arsenal against Chelsea at the weekend, and he may well come straight into their starting line-up, given their poor display on opening day against Brentford.
