Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Spurs have just had a bid accepted for Cristian Romero.
Tottenham have been linked with the 23-year-old defender for a number of weeks now.
Recent speculation has suggested Spurs have been edging closer to the Argentina ace’s signature.
And Romano’s latest update will be music to Tottenham fans’ ears, suggesting this deal is on the home straight.
Spurs target Cristian Romero: The story so far
Romero came through the ranks at Argentine club Belgrano, but made just 18 competitive appearances before moving to Europe.
The 6ft centre-back linked up with Genoa in 2018 and made a name for himself with the Grifone.
Italian giants Juventus made their move a year later and bought him for a reported £23.4million.

Juve loaned Romero back to Genoa for the 2019-20 season, clocking up a total of 60 appearances for the club over two years.
The following summer, Romero joined Atalanta on a two-year loan with an option to buy for a reported £13.8million.
To date, he has made 42 appearances for La Dea and has won five caps for Argentina, winning the Copa America this summer.
Atalanta will likely take up their option to sign Romero and immediately sell him for a profit.
