Tottenham Hotspur legend Hugo Lloris is now set to leave Spurs and join MLS side Los Angeles FC.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who declared “here we go” on Lloris‘ impending departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Over the past day or so, speculation linking the Tottenham icon with a move away from Spurs has been doing the rounds.

The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that talks between the £120,000-a-week stopper (Salarysport) and LAFC were in their final stages.

Now, Romano has taken to X to say all parties have come to an agreement regarding the transfer of Lloris from Spurs to LAFC, and that the move is now imminent.

“Hugo Lloris to LAFC, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties,” the transfer insider wrote. “Told it’s permanent deal for Lloris who’s leaving Spurs after 11 years.

“Understand Lloris will sign one year deal at LAFC plus options to extend for next years. Documents ready soon.”

Hugo Lloris now in position to get heartfelt Tottenham send-off

It’s sad news to hear that Lloris is now on the verge of leaving, considering all he has done for the club. Indeed, he’s on par with Harry Kane in terms of being a Tottenham legend.

That said, it’s a shame that things panned out the way they did over the past few months. He declared his intention to leave Tottenham in the summer, but he failed to find a new club. So he stayed at Spurs, but Ange Postecoglou had already planned for life without him.

However, these last few months will be forgotten when he does eventually leave. The club and fans will pay tribute to the previous 11 years, when he became a Tottenham stalwart and took them close to glory on multiple occasions.
