‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano confirms Martin Odegaard to Arsenal deal

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has given the words all Arsenal fans wanted to hear, by confirming that Martin Odegaard to the Gunners is a ‘here we go’.

Taking to his Twitter account this afternoon, Romano has confirmed that Odegaard has agreed to join Arsenal and all the deal is sorted barring the medical in London.

Martin Ødegaard to Arsenal, here we go! The agreement has been reached after last contacts today between #AFC and Real Madrid. 🇳🇴

Loan until the end of the season, salary paid by Arsenal. Arteta’s call key to convince the player. Medicals pending – then deal will be announced.

Romano has been on top of the Odegaard to Arsenal saga since news emerged last week that the Real Madrid man could be set for a switch to the Gunners on loan.

And after a few days of negotiations, it seems Arsenal have got their man, pending a medical. In terms of that medical, there should be few issues, given Odegaard hasn’t had a serious injury and played the majority of last season.

Mikel Arteta will be delighted to get his man. He’s made signing an attacking midfielder a priority in January and appears to have got a temporary solution in place until the summer.

Romano has become famous for giving the ‘Here We Go’ when a transfer is complete. It could mark a busy day for the Gunners, who earlier confirmed Mesut Ozil has left the club to join Fenerbahce.
