Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly secured the services of Clement Lenglet on loan.

Speculation linking Spurs and the Barcelona defender has been heavy in recent days.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided updates suggesting the deal is done.

Sport – via Sport Witness – reported earlier today that Spurs are ‘pushing to sign Lenglet in the next few hours’.

Apparently, Tottenham ‘want the centre-back to go on tour in South Korea this Saturday’ with them.

While ‘there is an agreement between the clubs’, it’s ‘salary tax issues’ that are holding up the deal.

However, the two sides are ‘working against the clock to try to close all the fringes of the loan agreement for a season’.

Now, Romano has taken to Twitter to declare “here we go” on Lenglet to Tottenham.

He claimed that Spurs and Barca have agreed a loan deal until June 2023.

In terms of personal terms, Lenglet apparently agreed those and accepted the move last week.

At present, the two clubs are reportedly still in contact on the final details of the deal.

‘As of now’, there is no option for Tottenham to buy Lenglet, added Romano.

Lenglet is a player that has split opinion in recent years.

Didier Deschamps has previously lauded the France international, deeming him a “top player“.

At the same time, Lenglet has struggled at times, and has fallen out of favour at Barca.

Nonetheless, if Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici want him, then that’s a good sign.

After all, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur didn’t arrive at N17 to universal acclaim but they’re now fan favourites.
