Liverpool are likely to be busy over the coming weeks as Arne Slot looks to strengthen his ranks ahead of his maiden season at Anfield.
Slot has taken the Liverpool reins in wake of Jurgen Klopp’s exit and the Reds board will be eager to give him what he needs to hit the ground running at Anfield.
Although there’s scope for Liverpool to bolster their first-team ranks, no club should ever overlook the prospect of strengthening their academy.
After all, the Reds boast one of the best youth setups in the country, with many top talents having made the jump into their first-team in recent years.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have struck a deal for a youngster which has apparently incurred the wrath of Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Rio Ngumoha set to swap Chelsea for Liverpool
The player in question is Rio Ngumoha, a 15-year-old winger who currently plies his trade for the Blues’ academy.
Romano has declared “here we go” on Ngumoha from Chelsea’s academy to Liverpool’s youth setup.
The 2008-born talent is now set to sign documents with the Reds after an agreement was revealed this week.
Ngumoha was on the radar of several clubs, but he has decided to join Liverpool, added Romano.
Liverpool set to make Chelsea ‘furious’ by signing ‘fearless’ Ngumoha
As per GiveMeSport, Ngumoha was named the player of the tournament when Chelsea’s Under-16s won the title in October.
In January, he was then given the opportunity to make his debut with Chelsea’s Under-21s, testament to his talent, progress and potential.
The Daily Mail has reported that the Blues are ‘furious’ at the prospect of losing Ngumoha.
Meanwhile, Romano recently claimed that Liverpool are set to break their historical wage structure for the academy to bring Ngumoha in.
Chelsea youth team expert Parth Gupta recently told the Liverpool Echo: “Ngumoha has been a winger who has been talked about for quite a while in the academy world and it doesn’t take too long of watching him to see why.
“He’s a specialist-in-dribbling winger, predominantly on the left-hand side, who is fully confident in his one-on-one ability and is fearless in that sense.
“He’s played majorly Under-16 football so far, with a few appearances for the Under-18s, so it’s not like many would’ve been able to watch him a huge amount, but the glimpses everyone has seen through broadcasts and clips are definitely exciting.
“It’s hard to talk about a 15-year-old too much, and one’s very aware of the potential consequences of doing so.
“But if he takes his opportunities, which he no doubt will get at Liverpool due to his talent and the way the club works, I think a lot of people in the country will be keeping an eye on him very, very soon.”
