A number of Liverpool fans have bemoaned the news that Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss Sunday’s Premier League match with Manchester City.
The 22-year-old was ruled out of the Reds’ Champions League trip to Porto with a muscle problem.
Alexander-Arnold missed Tuesday night’s 5-1 win, with James Milner covering for him for the second time this season.

On Thursday, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the England international will not be available to face Pep Guardiola’s side at Anfield.
Klopp expects Alexander-Arnold to return after the international break along with Thiago Alcantara, who’s recovering from a calf injury.
“No,” the boss told the Liverpool media team when asked if he had an update on Alexander-Arnold and Thiago’s fitness.
“No ‘news’ means they are doing well but they won’t have enough time for being back against City.
“But I expect them both to be back after the international break.
“We have a good team so we still have solutions and we have to use them and yeah, after the international break the boys will be back I think.”
Given how strong City are, some Liverpool fans are anxious about facing them without Alexander-Arnold in their line-up.
Here is what some have said on Twitter:
Alexander-Arnold sat out the visit of Crystal Palace through illnes.
However, he was available for the 3-3 draw against Brentford last weekend
Alexander-Arnold isn’t in the England team for their World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.
