Yesterday saw Doncaster Rovers in FA Cup action against Crystal Palace. In the end, the Premier League side came away with a comfortable 2-0 win to make the quarter-finals of the competition.
For the Yorkshire side, it was disappointment but they certainly did themselves proud with a decent performance at the Keepmoat Stadium. One of the better players on the day should also have had Liverpool fans watching on intently.
Herbie Kane had a decent game in the heart of midfield. The 20-year-old is on loan at Doncaster from Liverpool.

Compared to Steven Gerrard, the Rangers manager and Liverpool legend, you could see why in this performance. As reported by Goal, Gerrard himself once backed him and a certain Trent Alexander-Arnold as special talents at Melwood.
Clearly comfortable on the ball and with a rasping long-range shot, Kane certainly shares similarities.
On the BBC website, Kane was voted as the fourth best player on the pitch and that was not an unfair reflection of his contribution to the game.
Liverpool clearly have a gem on their hands. He doesn’t look ready for first-team football at Anfield yet. However, a loan spell in the Championship or perhaps even at Gerrard’s Glasgow side next term could be the perfect finishing school for the young man.
Kane is certainly one to look out for at Liverpool in the seasons to come.
