Henri Kumwenda admitted on Twitter that he was gutted after Leeds United’s under-18s were beaten by Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday, but the forward also felt compelled to laud the supporters who travelled to Old Trafford.
The Whites were beaten 1-0 in the fifth round. But it seemed that the Championship side were the ones who stole many of the headlines thanks to an incredible amount of support from the Leeds fans.
As reported by Leeds Live, the Whites’ allocation of 1,400 tickets sold out in less than an hour.
And the players certainly did their bit to produce a performance the fans could be proud of.
Leeds pushed the home side. And a number of Mark Jackson’s players further cemented themselves as names to look out for in the coming years.
Kumwenda may not have had the best night on Wednesday. The teenager was sent off during the second-half after picking up his second yellow card.
And the youngster admitted on social media that he was extremely disappointed with the result. But he also had a message for those who did attend to support the Whites…

It may not have been Kumwenda’s night against Manchester United. But he has had a moment to shine this season, with his penalty deciding the dramatic shootout with Sheffield Wednesday in the previous round.
And based on some of his performances throughout the season, it would be little surprise if it is not too long before he returns to being the match-winner for the under-18s again.
