'He’d be a great player at Tottenham': Tim Sherwood wants Spurs to beat Arsenal to £55m PL star
Tottenham Hotspur have been urged by Tim Sherwood to make a move for Leeds United forward and reported Arsenal target Raphinha.
Sherwood, speaking to Optus Sport – via TEAMtalk – believes the Elland Road ace would be “great” for Antonio Conte’s Spurs.
The Telegraph recently reported that Arsenal are plotting a move for Raphinha this summer.
The Gunners are yet to make an approach to sign the Whites star, but he is on their list of potential options.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have hit the ground running in the summer transfer window.

So far, Spurs have landed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers.
In addition, ENIC recently announced an injection of £150million into Tottenham.
This will help Conte and Fabio Paratici be more competitive in the market this summer.
At present, Spurs are fairly well stocked in attacking midfield and on the wings.
Conte can call upon Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.
Perisic can also be used on either flank.
However, Bergwijn is reportedly likely to leave Tottenham this summer, which would free up a slot in Conte’s ranks.
“I’d like to have him at Tottenham”
Raphinha has proven himself to be one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League.
The Brazil international has scored nine times this season and contributed three assists.
However, his future at Leeds remains uncertain.
Barcelona were viewed as the likeliest club to sign Raphinha.
However, Leeds’ £55 million valuation of the Brazilian forced Barca to look elsewhere.
Sherwood reckons Jesse Marsch’s side will struggle to keep him.
“[It will be] very difficult to keep him,” said the former Spurs manager.
“I’m not exaggerating to say he could play anywhere in the Premier League. There is not a team he wouldn’t fit.
“It depends how regularly he wants to play, and Leeds’ ambition.
“He is only going to be a lot of money to buy, but it is worth it.
“He has shown that he can play in the Premier League, a low-risk signing.
“I’d like to have him at Tottenham, I think he’d be a great player at Tottenham.”
