A number of Hearts fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Scottish Sun suggesting that Rangers’s incoming sporting director Ross Wilson is keen to bring Aaron Hickey to Ibrox.
Hickey is establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Scottish Premiership. He earned a place in Hearts’s squad for last season’s Scottish Cup final, and performed superbly at Hampden Park.
The 17-year-old is now attracting plenty of attention. The Scottish Sun reports that Manchester City are tracking the left-back, while Southampton were also monitoring his development while Wilson was at the helm.
With Wilson now taking up a job at Rangers, The Scottish Sun reports that the Gers are now in the race. The report suggests that Wilson is set to propose a £2 million bid for the teenager.
The news however, has been met with a lot of scepticism on social media. The fact that Hearts face Rangers this weekend has not been lost on a lot of the club’s supporters, and they have questioned whether there is any actual interest.
Those Hearts supporters who seemingly do not completely doubt that Rangers may be keen meanwhile, have slammed the suggestion that the Gers may stand a chance of a deal should they bid £2 million.
They believe that it should take a lot more to prise Hickey away from Tynecastle. It appears safe to say that many Hearts fans would be stunned if Rangers prove to be the team that lures the starlet away.
Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
Rangers can’t afford him.

Hickey too good for The Rangers Est 2012. When he does leave Hearts I hope it is to go down to English Premiership.

The Daily Record posting a story about a Hearts player being a Rangers transfer target in the run up to a match is as regular as clockwork. John Souttar, Jamie Walker, Aaron Hickey, the list will go on ? https://t.co/4E0zcoF1TW

If you were wondering who Rangers are playing this weekend, now you know.
1. He’s a Celtic fan.
2. No chance Hearts would take such a low offer. We’re not skint any more.
