‘Heart and soul’: Tim Cahill sends message to Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou
Tim Cahill has sent a good luck message to Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who held his first press conference on Friday since arriving at Parkhead.
Hoops boss Postecoglou sat down with the media for the first time today. He was officially confirmed as the new manager in June.
The 55-year-old coach outlined some of his beliefs during an exciting interview that gave supporters a chance to try work him out.
He’s got just under a month to go until his side’s first competitive game of the 2021/22 season is due to begin.
They face Danish opposition FC Midtjylland in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round on 20 July, so it’s crucial their pre-season goes well leading into that showdown.
There are warm-up matches with Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic, Bristol City, Preston and West Ham all booked for July.
Australian and Premier League legend Cahill has sent Postecoglou a message on social media. Ex-Australia manager previously coached Cahill at international level.
“Good luck Ange. Wishing you all the best on this new chapter. You will see a manager that will give his heart and soul for Celtic football Club,” Cahill wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Postecoglou a level-headed manager that Celtic fans should embrace
Firstly, everyone knows Postecoglou has got a gigantic job on his hands at Celtic. However, he spoke very well in his interview and seemed extremely level-headed.
It’s going to be a big ask for the Bhoys to close down the gap to last season’s champions Rangers. They continue to grow stronger under manager Steven Gerrard.
But, change at Celtic has come at the right time.
Postecoglou arrives after a few years managing in Japan, plus he was in charge of Australia’s national side. He previously lead them at the 2014 World Cup.
The pressure is no doubt going to be a step up for him at Celtic, but supporters will get behind him if results start to fly in.
