Pep Lijnders has provided Liverpool with another segment of his pre-season diary, where he spoke about Ibrahima Konaté, Joël Matip and more.
The Dutchman also shared a story from the Liverpool dining area, which involved a conversation between Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott.
What did Mohamed Salah say?
As quoted by Liverpool’s official website, Lijnders said: “Yesterday, I also heard a story that Mo and Harvey Elliott were sitting with each other in the dining area.
“Harvey had some bread and some fruit on his plate and Mo asked him how many slices of bread he’d already had that day. Harvey said one and Mo told him to only eat the fruit!”
It’s great to get a bit of insight into what goes on behind the scenes at Liverpool.

It’s good to see that Salah is looking out for Elliott, so much so that he’s even picking up on the smaller details, such as the amount of bread he’s eating.
Harvey Elliott could become scarily good
At just 18 years of age, Elliott is already a special player.
However, he could become scarily good if he’s got someone as incredible as Salah putting his arm around him and showing him the ropes.
Both forwards are similar players, often lining up on the right flank where they tend to cut in on their stronger left foot.

In that respect, should Elliott spend enough time around Salah and pick up parts of his game, you’d like to think the teenager could replicate some bits.
Whatever happens, it can only be good for Elliott to develop in an environment containing players like Salah, Virgil van Dijk and others.
Liverpool could have a genuine superstar in the making.
