AC Milan’s Paulo Maldini has ended Tottenham Hotspur’s reported hopes of signing Franck Kessie with his comments to DAZN.
Tottenham’s interest
EuroSPORT have suggested that Tottenham are strongly considering making a move for Kessie this summer, as they look to bolster their midfield ranks.
However, it seems that any hopes that they had have now been extinguished.
That is because AC Milan technical director Maldini says that Kessie will be offered a new contract and has laid out in definitive terms that he won’t be going.
“Franck Kessié will stay as he’s part of our future, we’re working to extend his contract,” Mancini said, ahead of offering the midfielder a deal worth £65,000-a-week (TuttoMercatoWeb).
A blow to Spurs
That news may come as a blow to Spurs, as the appeal of signing Kessie was obvious.

The powerful midfielder has shown a real goalscoring knack, but he is also talented defensively.
He surely would have added considerable depth to a midfield area for Spurs that could need bolstering.
Tottenham were heavily reliant on Pierre Emile Hojbjerg staying fit last season, with the Dane playing every Premier League minute for them.
Kessie’s arrival may have allowed them to rotate him more though, but it may be that Tottenham have to move on to another target after the latest comments.
