'He will come back': Gabby Agbonlahor says he's sure former Aston Villa man will return one day
Jack Grealish will return to Aston Villa at some stage of his career, says talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor.
Grealish’s Manchester City side host Villa on the final day of the season, knowing that a win would seal the Premier League title.
That would be the first time Grealish has got his hands on the trophy and would presumably give the England playmaker further justification for making his controversial summer move.
Grealish will return to Villa one day
“I don’t think Villa fans will mind, I think a lot more Villa fans are okay (with the idea of Grealish winning the league),” said Agbonlahor.
“At first, they were hurt, one of their best players left and they were disappointed.
“On social media now, you see a lot that if Grealish wanted to come back tomorrow, they’d take him with open arms.
“I do believe one day he will come back and play for Villa, similar to Ashley Young.”
Is Agbonlahor right about the feelings from Villa fans towards Grealish? We will probably get a better idea this weekend if City win the league while the Villa supporters are there.
There is of course more narrative at play with former Liverpool men Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho and Danny Ings in the Villa side trying to get a result which could hand the Reds the title.
It promises to be a hugely entertaining afternoon and one on which the title could still go either way.
