Ange Postecoglou has resurrected a number of players’ careers at Tottenham this season.
The Australian has helped the likes of Yves Bissouma and Giovani Lo Celso rediscover their best form, while Richarlison is now showing his talent as well.
Another player who has improved massively this season is Pedro Porro.
The 24-year-old joined Spurs 12 months ago, an in that first half-season to say that he struggled would be an understatement.
Porro showed very little defensive or technical acumen during his first six months at Spurs, but now, he’s become one of the best right-backs in the league.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Lianne Sanderson has been full of praise for Porro after his transformation this season, claiming that while he was poor last term, he looks utterly brilliant now.

Porro has improved
Sanderson spoke highly of the defender.
“Big credit to Pedro Porro, because I was really critical of him last season, especially against Bournemouth, he was at fault for three goals and he was poor, but he looks brilliant now. His delivery, positioning, Garnacho and our wide players couldn’t get a sniff at all,” Sanderson said.
So confident
The biggest thing to notice about Porro’s transformation this season is that he’s playing with so much confidence compared to last season.
Last year he barely looked like he knew what he was doing under a manager who didn’t really care to help him improve.
Now though, Ange Postecoglou has sprinkled his magic on the full-back, and he has improved ten-fold this season as Spurs push for a place in the top four.
Porro does still have some room to improve in terms of defending, but, in general, he has been one of Spurs better performers this season and he is a big talent who has plenty of room to still grow and improve.
