Yang Min Hyuk reveals what Heung-Min Son has already spoken to him about after joining Tottenham

Tottenham have announced the signing of of Yang Min Hyuk this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou continues to strengthen his squad.

Spurs have moved to snap up the impressive South Korean teenager as they continue to build for both the here and now and future seasons.

18-year-old Hyuk will stay in South Korean with Gangwon for the time being but then move to Spurs in 2025.

Postecoglou has used his extensive knowledge of the Asian market to convince Tottenham to land Hyuk.

Of course, adding another South Korean star also has benefits in terms of commercial success. We’ve already seen how big a deal Heung-Min Son is for Tottenham and fans in the Far East.

Hyuk, then, will be hoping to have as big as an impact as Son at Tottenham and the youngster has revealed he’s already spoken to the Spurs skipper.

Speaking at a press conference on the official Gangwon FC YouTube channel, Hyuk has explained how he’s already had a chat with Son while completing his medicals.

“I met Son Heung Min in Seoul while completing the last part of my medical test for Tottenham,” Hyuk said.

“He told me that I am playing well and that I should study English diligently from now.”

Hyuk will very much be hoping to continue his upward trajectory of improvement and by the time he joins Spurs, he’ll hope to be ready to play in the first-team.

Predominantly a winger, Hyuk could well end up playing alongside Son in the Tottenham XI and if that happens, fans in South Korea will be all over Spurs games.

Lauded by South Korean football expert Joel Kim as being a player with ‘power and pace’, Hyuk looks a star of the future.

Of course, there is a long way to go for Hyuk.

But the fact Son has already approached him, shows the captain is doing his job and it will immediately help the teenager settle.
