‘He should have started’: Spurs fans question Mourinho decision to ignore Dele Alli
Tottenham limped to a 1-1 draw with Fulham last night as Jose Mourinho’s men missed a chance to push the top two further.
Spurs took the lead and could have had one or two more goals but failed to take their chances before Ivan Cavaleiro netted a deserved equaliser for the Cottagers.

Following the game, manager Jose Mourinho was under fire from some sections of Spurs support for a couple of his selection calls before and during the game. The Spurs boss went with a plethora of central midfielders, while the likes of Bale, Lucas, and Alli were all left out.
Indeed, it was the lack of Dele Alli, even off the bench, which caused a lot of concern for Spurs fans, with a number of supporters talking on Twitter about the decision not to bring him onto the field.
It seems some Tottenham fans aren’t too happy, as displayed by some of the tweets on the matter, here.
He should have started. Sissoko, Hojbjerg and Winks starting at home to Fulham was ridiculous.

Agree – Dele & Bale or Lucas should have all been introduced last night. It was Fulham’s introduction of lookman and his running that brought them their goal- Aurier leaves us defensively exposed & we play defensive midfielders to compensate. Sissoko is asked to cover Aurier.

Way too defensive! At home to a team trying to stay in the league! We needed to attack them! It wasn’t a game for Winks and Sissoko! We need Dele & Moura on! Way too predictable

What Jose is doing to Dele is wrong, we are crying out for a creative player & Dele might just be that player we need, Also he got it completely wrong tonight & he is 100% at fault for this result.

How he doesn’t get in that team is a mystery other than he appears to be the scapegoat that Jose has at every club. He offers so much more than Sissoko and Winks and we shouldn’t need so many defensive/holding players against Fulham

Why start with a midfield consisting of Højbjerg,Winks and Sissoko at home against a team fighting to stay in the league when we are supposedly trying to win it ?It’s a joke what he is doing to Dele,Jose needs to get over himself and play him.If son or Kane don’t score no 1 does
