Bryan Gil seems to be way out of the picture at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spaniard, when everyone is fit, might be Spurs’ fifth-choice left-winger at this point, and, to be honest, that’s no life for a talented footballer.
Gil’s gametime at Spurs over the next few months is going to be limited by the looks of things, but he’s not giving up without a fight.
Indeed, while there’s been a lot of chat about Gil moving on from Tottenham soon, according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, the winger is really fighting for his place in this team.

Gil is fighting
Gold shared what he knows about the 22-year-old.
“Yeah, to be fair to Bryan Gil, everything that is coming out around the player seems to be that he really wants to fight for his place at Spurs, there have been some suggestions that he could be heading off, that could still be the case, but if he goes it won’t be for the lack of trying,’ Gold said.
Uphill battle
While it’s good to hear that Gil is fighting for his place at Spurs, it has to be said that this is a huge uphill battle.
With Heung-Min Son, Manor Solomon, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, Richarlison and even Ryan Sessegnon all genuine candidates on that left wing, Gil is way down the pecking order, and it would take something close to a minor miracle for him to work his way into the team.
However, as we should all know, anything is possible with the right amount of hard work, and if Gil puts his all into getting back into the mix at Spurs, maybe, just maybe, he can resurrect his career in north London.
Let’s see if Gil can do enough to convince Ange Postecoglou over the next few weeks.
