‘He looks so much worse’: Pundit says 24-year-old Arsenal player is playing in the wrong position

Arsenal are in terrible form at the moment.

The Gunners have now lost three consecutive games, and their poor form has coincided with a terrible run of performances from Kai Havertz.

The German has been completely ineffective in recent weeks, and against Liverpool he was truly poor.

Havertz played as a striker against the Reds, and to say he looked uncomfortable would be an understatement.

He struggled in front of goal, and, in all honesty, he didn’t look like he knew what he was doing most of the time.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Pat Nevin has been dissecting Havertz’s recent performance, and he maintains that the 24-year-old is not a striker and never has been.

Havertz isn’t a striker

Nevin shared his verdict on the Arsenal man.

“Havertz is not a centre-forward. I’ll say it forever and ever and ever. He scores coming onto the ball, he’s not a guy who gets the ball, moves it quickly and slams it into the top corner, he’s not good at that. He’s one of those players, he looks so much worse when he’s up there, I can understand why they tried it, he’s tall and all that other stuff, but not the right person for it,” Nevin said.

Where does he play?

Nevin is right, Havertz isn’t a striker, that much should be obvious to anyone, but if he isn’t a striker, what is he?

He’s certainly not a midfield player, and he isn’t a number 10 either, so what role is he actually supposed to play?

Havertz is a baffling player, some swear by his abilities and say that he’s a fantastic player, but, in our view, he’s a jigsaw piece that just doesn’t fit whatever team he’s playing in.

Havertz needs to figure out what position he’s meant to play, because, so far, he’s been poor for Arsenal.
