‘He kept going’: BBC pundit says £39m Tottenham player actually did really well against West Ham

Tottenham will be more than disappointed with another loss against West Ham on Thursday.

The north London club are now five games without a win in the Premier League, and the Ange Postecoglou honeymoon period is now very much over.

A loss to West Ham is always a bitter pill to swallow for Spurs, and this one is no different.

However, there were a few positives to take from the game.

Tottenham were on top for most of the game and there were a few strong performances, and speaking on BBC Radio Five Live (7/12/23 10PM), Michael Brown singled Pedro Porro out for particular praise.

Porro played well

The pundit gave his verdict on the £39m man’s performance against West Ham.

“Pedro Porro has done well you know. He kept going. He’s across the pitch, he’s up and down, he’s back trying to get balls and trying to do things the right way. Here he goes again,” Brown said.

Gave his all

Say what you will about Tottenham’s performance against West Ham, but Pedro Porro did give his all in this game.

Most of Tottenham’s joy came down that right wing, and Porro didn’t stop running all evening long.

He put in a number of fantastic crosses, and if Spurs could’ve just been a bit more clinical in front of goal, he would’ve been the hero.

Of course, there aren’t many positives to take from this game after such a defeat, but from a bigger picture perspective, Porro’s showing was encouraging and if he plays like that every week, he’ll start to rack up the assists.

Porro has been much improved this season, and it’s fair to say that he was one of the brightest sparks for Tottenham on what was a very disappointing evening against their rivals.
