Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt yet more injury woe with news emerging of Destiny Udogie now being the latest to pick up a knock.

Udogie missed the game with Wolves at the weekend through suspension. The Italian was expected to still be part of the Italian national team though and Spurs fans were looking forward to seeing their left-back in action.

However, it seems Udogie will now not be representing Italy after manager Luciano Spalletti confirmed that Udogie is actually injured and will be playing in the next week or so.

Confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on social media, Spalletti had the following to say about the Tottenham man.

“Destiny Udogie is not here because he is injured — that was not my technical decision,” Spalletti said.

The 20-year-old has been a revelation for Spurs since signing for around £15m.

Udogie injury another nightmare for Tottenham

There’s little information here on what the actual problem is for Destiny Udogie but if it is going to be another problem for Spurs it’s one they don’t need.

The injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have already had a huge impact on the club so if Udogie is going to be missing as well, then it’s a nightmare

Ange Postecoglou must be wondering what’s going on at the moment. Injuries are always part and parcel of football but this at the moment for Spurs is a big issue.

It’s not just squad players getting knocks here. It’s key players who are going to have a huge say on how Tottenham’s season pans out.

Hopefully, Udogie’s injury is a bit of nothing and he can be back soon. But until that news is confirmed, then Spurs fans will be waiting anxiously.
